The flagship project focuses on the onshore and coastal/offshore operations and facilities of the Vassiliko Energy Centre (VEC), which represents a major national and private energy infrastructure for Cyprus. The aim is to create a framework for various studies, which will target to improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the VEC. Through the digitization of a range of infrastructure facilities, processes and operations – some of which being inter-connected – these studies will advance efficient holistic solutions for design, management and predictive maintenance. The concept relies on the development and implementation of new technologies and targets on the creation of new knowledge and capability in this important area, towards enhancing the competitiveness of the energy sector in Cyprus and strengthening its sustainable growth.
